No doctor at Beaverlodge emergency department Wednesday night

Alberta Health Services says there will be no doctor at the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital Emergency Department from 8 tonight (Wednesday, September 9) until 8 tomorrow morning (Thursday, September 10).

 AHS is blaming a staff shortage and not being able to find someone else to provide coverage. 

The emergency department is also still scheduled to be without a physician from 8 p.m. Thursday until 8 a.m. Friday. 

People can still call 911 in a medical emergency. 

Nurses will be working and doing triage, assessments and referrals as needed.
