MVC on Highway 2 northbound near Emerson Trail

UPDATE as of 11:25 a.m. on Sept. 11, 2026 – 511 Alberta reports the incident has been cleared and traffic flow has resumed to normal.

PREVIOUS – A motor vehicle collision is disrupting the flow of traffic this morning (Friday, Sept. 11) on Highway 2 northbound between Clairmont and Sexsmith.

511 Alberta reports the collision happened near the Emerson Trail junction around 7 a.m., and lane closures are in place as emergency crews respond.

There has been no official word from authorities on the collision.

Speed has been reduced to 50 km/h around the incident and drivers are to expect delays until clean up is completed.
