Peace Regional RCMP arrest suspects in ATCO break-in

Peace Regional RCMP have arrested two suspects in connection to a break-in at an ATCO compound.

On Sunday, Sept. 6, Mounties responded to a report of two males jumping the fence into the ATCO Electric compound and fleeing on foot once authorities arrived.

Police Dog Services quickly located the two suspects, and they were taken into custody.

A 26-year-old resident of Grimshaw was remanded into custody and appeared in the Alberta Court of Justice in Peace River on September 9 with the following charges:

  • Break and enter (x2)
  • Resist arrest (x2)
  • Fail to comply with a release order
  • Breach of a conditional sentence order

A 23-year-old resident of Duncans First Nation was released on conditions to appear in court Sept. 28 and has been charged with:

  • Break and enter
  • Resist arrest (x2)
