Stolen semi incident leads to one-year jail sentence 

Alberta Justice says the person charged after a report of a stolen semi being driven erratically has been given a 365-day jail sentence. 

Rory Jordan Serna of Myrnam, Alberta, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and flight from a peace officer in Grande Prairie court. Six other charges were withdrawn. 

Grande Prairie RCMP said at the time on July 23, 2025, they got a report of a fuel truck and trailer being stolen. 

The driver took off when police arrived at the scene. 

Mounties and the Grande Prairie Police Service watched the vehicle. It then started to be driven erratically and became dangerous to others. 

Tire Deflation Devices later stopped the truck.

The driver tried to run away but was tracked down by a police dog.

Peace River gun-pointing incidents lead to four-month jail sentence

Alberta Justice says incidents in Peace River where some people had a gun pointed at them have led to a 120-day jail sentence for the accused. 

Freddie Nanooch pleaded guilty to charges of pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon, resisting a peace officer, possession of a prohibited weapon, and failure to comply with a release order in Peace River court. 

Nanooch was charged on June 25, 2026, after Peace River RCMP got a report that someone had a firearm pointed at them by a man walking along a road. 

Mounties say they got a total of three calls reporting something similar.

Charges withdrawn in stolen property case 

Alberta Justice says all charges against two people charged in a stolen property investigation have been withdrawn. 

The charges against Jacob Blid and Johnathon Anderson, both of Grande Prairie, were withdrawn on September 3 in Valleyview court. 

They were charged after an estimated $300,000 worth of stolen property was recovered from a place west of Sturgeon Lake in early January of this year. 

The property recovered included a front-end loader, picker truck, gooseneck trailer, a side-by-side, and tools.

Charges withdrawn against three people in stolen vehicle, shotgun arrest 

The charges laid against three people after a stolen vehicle investigation led to the seizure of a sawed-off shotgun have been withdrawn. 

Alberta Justice says the charges against Krista Healy were withdrawn in early September after the counts against Holly Breland were withdrawn in February, and the ones against Christopher Lindgren were withdrawn in September of last year. 

All three were arrested on June 19, 2025, after officers saw a stolen truck in Clairmont that was later driven into Grande Prairie. 

It was pulled over during a traffic stop. A search turned up the loaded shotgun with the safety off close to some zip ties.

Eight-month jail sentence after attempted stabbing in Red Earth Creek 

Alberta Justice says a Peerless Lake man has been handed a 240-day jail sentence after pleading guilty to a charge of assault with a weapon. 

Five other charges against Alexis Julius Okemow were withdrawn in Red Earth Creek court. 

He was charged after an incident on April 18, 2026. 

Red Earth Creek RCMP said at the time they got a call just before 3 a.m. from a man who said someone was trying to stab him, and that he was bleeding after being punched in the face.

An arrest was made a short time later.
