Hockey, rodeo, Wolves, football, motocross this weekend

The Storm are 2-1 on the season after two wins at home over Bonnyville last weekend, followed by a road loss in Whitecourt on Wednesday.

NWJHL

There are two games in the Northwest Junior Hockey League on Friday.

The County Wheat Kings will be in Slave Lake, while Fort St. John travels to Fairview.

Both games will start at 8 p.m.

Saturday, Fort St. John at the Wheat Kings and Beaverlodge in Fairview.

Those games both start at 8 p.m.

Dawson Creek is in La Crete Saturday for a 7 p.m. face-off.

On Sunday, the Wheat Kings in Beaverlodge and Sexsmith in Slave Lake will both start at 2 p.m.

Dawson Creek in La Crete starts at 1:30.

Thursday night, Beaverlodge won 5-3 over visiting Sexsmith.

Rodeo

Northern Lights College will host its Fall Rodeo this weekend at the Lakota Agriplex in Dawson Creek.

The rodeo slack starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the first main performance following at 6:30 p.m.

The second main performance will start at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Wolves

The Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves golf team is at the ACAC Championship in Lac La Biche this weekend.

It will run from Friday through Sunday.

The Wolves women’s hockey team will host Sherwood Park AAA Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in exhibition games.

Both games will be played at the Design Works Centre.

Wolves soccer visits Portage College in Lac La Biche Saturday and Sunday.

Game times will be 2 and 4:15 p.m. Saturday, noon and 2:15 p.m. Sunday, starting with the women’s game both days.

Football

The Peace Wapiti Academy Titans football team will be in Edmonton for a game with the Harry Ainley Titans Friday.

Kick-off at 5 p.m. at Millwoods Turf Field.

Motocross

Evergreen Park will host the FNX World Tour of freestyle motocross this weekend.

The date for the event has been changed to Sunday. It was originally set for Saturday.

There is a pit party that starts at 11:30 a.m. The show starts at 1 p.m.
