PCN Indigenous Support Line available

Sep 29, 2026 | 6:25 PM

Primary Care Alberta is reminding people that the Indigenous Support Line is available for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people.

The organization says in a news release that this is for anyone who needs help to “navigate the healthcare system and connect with culturally grounded care.”

PCA says that Indigenous Listeners are available to provide “confidential, culturally informed support and guidance.”

This can include help with addictions, mental health, accessing services, and talking about concerns, among other things.

“Indigenous Listeners are here to help. Indigenous Listeners can also connect callers with translation services in 23 Indigenous languages, helping reduce barriers to care and ensuring more Albertans can access the support they need,” adds PCA in that same release.

It is open from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and can be accessed by calling 811 or 1-844-944-4744.

Primary Care Alberta adds in that same release that the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation “is a day to remember the children who never returned home and the survivors of residential schools, and to honour the strength, resilience, and enduring cultures of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit.”
