On Oct. 1, Fish and Wildlife were made aware of a deceased grizzly, found in the deep Valley Road area, between Little Smoky and Fox Creek.

FWES has since determined the bear was shot and had its carcass dragged off the main trail, with all four of its paws removed.

Anyone with information regarding suspicious activity in this area between Sept. 25 and Oct. 3 is asked to contact the Report-A-Poacher line at 1-800-642-3800.

FWES noted that any “information leading to charges may be eligible for a cash reward.”
