City begins annual tree pruning program

The City of Grande Prairie has begun its annual fall and winter tree pruning program.

Running from the start of October to the end of March, city crews are working to protect elm trees from Dutch elm disease and help other trees needing maintenance.

Crews will be running through boulevards, streets and parks on a rotating schedule and responding to urgent concerns as needed.

Residents are being asked to refrain from pruning any city trees themselves but can report any they believe needs special attention from the city.
