Over ten local schools will gather at Alliance Church on Monday, Oct. 19 as part of the French For the Future Local Forum.

This event is designed to bring together French second-language students to apply their learning in real-world settings and learn the upsides of being bilingual.

Emeline Leurent, French for the Future’s Executive Director, says, “the Forum is a celebration of French culture that allows French as a second language students from different school boards to build relationships in a positive environment.”

As part of the event, students will take part in educational workshops with two guest speakers planned:

Originally from Congo Kinshasa, now residing in Edmonton Canada, the artist has been active on the Canadian music scene since the summer of 2015. His love for music and his admiration for French vocabulary are the elements that motivated him to pursue a musical career.

Emma Iafolla-Lafrenière – A native of Edmonton, Emma lafolla-Lafrenière was introduced to the French-speaking world at a very young age through family trips to Quebec. It was here that she connected to her roots and family history. She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta’s Campus Saint-Jean majoring in French. Her travels led her to France and Italy and has since returned to build her Career in French! She currently is the Executive Director for ACFA in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
