New spin for Small Business Week says Chamber

Oct 20, 2026 | 6:02 AM

The Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce says there will be a “new spin” on Small Business Week as activities get underway this week.

The Chamber says the new twist is that Business Awards of Distinction are being given out all week, rather than all at the same event.

Activities start today (Tuesday, October 20), with the Women in Business Luncheon & Awards.

Christine Ayling with The Virtues Project will be the guest speaker.

The Best New Business, Customer Service, and Employer of Choice Awards will all be given out.

Wednesday will feature the Lunch with Rotary & Awards.

O’Leary Digital COO Zach Preston will give a presentation.

Recipients of the Greatest Impact, Leading Edge and Community Spirit Awards will be recognized.

The week wraps up Thursday with A Taste of the Arts Celebration & Awards, where the Legacy Business and Small Business of the Year Awards will be given out.

The Small Business Week Business Showcase will be held next Thursday, October 29.

A Chamber release calls this “a chance to discover new products and services, meet the people behind local businesses, find fresh ideas and make new connections.”
