City conducting planning study of 100 Ave. & 108 St. intersection

City Hall is looking for public input on proposed improvements to an intersection on Highway 40.

The city is conducting a study to identify improvements that improve traffic flow at the intersection of 100 Ave. and 108 St., reviewing 30 design options to reduce travel delays and enhance safety.

Of the 30 options, the city has shortlisted two preferred alternatives: a displaced left-turn intersection and a conventional signalized intersection.

This is currently a planning study only, and no construction is planned at this time.

“This intersection is a vital part of the daily commute for many residents and is an important transportation connection for business and industry,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton. “Hearing from the people who use it regularly will help us better understand how the intersection functions today and the considerations that are important to the community.”

An in-person engagement session will be held at the Eastlink Centre on Monday, Oct. 26, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
