City offering Home Energy Check Kits to improve energy efficiency
The City of Grande Prairie wants to help residents find ways to improve energy efficiency at home.
The City has released a Home Energy Check Kit, which provides free access to tools like an infrared thermometer, plug-in energy meter, and air quality detector to help households better understand their energy use.
The kits include seven guided activities to explore common areas of home energy use like heating and ventilation, as well as worksheets for residents to record their findings.
“We want Grande Prairie to be a community where residents have the resources and opportunities to make choices that improve their quality of life,” said Mayor Jackie Clayton in a news release. “The Home Energy Check Kit is a practical way to support households in understanding their energy use and finding opportunities to make their homes more comfortable and affordable.”
