Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital emergency department without on-site physician overnight Oct. 27-28

The Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital emergency department will be without an on-site physician starting Tuesday, Oct. 27.

Due to a clinical personnel shortage and an inability to secure temporary coverage, health officials say there will be no on-site physician from 8:00 p.m. Tuesday until 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28.

Patients are still asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency, as EMS will remain available to reroute callers to surrounding facilities.

Nursing staff will remain on-site in the Emergency Department providing urgent triage and assessments, and a Virtual Emergency Physician is currently scheduled to support all or part of these shifts.
