Two ag. societies and two First Nations in northwestern Alberta have been given grants from Farm Credit Canada’s AgriSpirit Fund.

The Bezanson Agricultural Society will use its $20,000 for upgrades to the Bezanson Community Event Centre.

This project was also given a $20,000 grant from UFA Agricultural Community Foundation’s Rural Communities Grant program earlier in October.

The Valleyview & Districts Agricultural Society is getting $11,000 to install an infrared radiant heating system at the Greenview Regional AgriPlex.

The society says in a social media post that the project should be finished next spring.

Horse Lake First Nation will use its $20,000 grant for community freezer units and food preservation equipment.

Another $20,000 is going to Whitefish Lake First Nation to expand food production. That will include gardening equipment, cold storage, and upgrades to growing systems.
