Aquatera Utilities receives national recognition

A local business has been recognized as one of Canada’s safest employers.

Aquatera Utilities was chosen as an Excellence Awardee for the MWG Apparel Award for Canada’s Safest Utilities and Electrical Employer category at the Canada’s Safest Employer Awards.

Aquatera says with its employees working in a variety of fields; water, wastewater, solid waste, and auxiliary utility services – a “strong safety culture is essential to protecting employees and supporting reliable service delivery.”

David Hare, health and safety manager at Aquatera adds that “building a strong safety culture takes consistent effort from everyone,” but their approach also relies “on the everyday actions of employees, ongoing awareness and a shared commitment to identifying and managing risks.”

Aquatera CEO Vaughn Bend says “this recognition is an opportunity to acknowledge the dedication of our employees and the importance we place on creating a workplace where people look out for one another and return home safely at the end of each day. We are proud of our team and their commitment to making safety a priority.”

He adds that they are committed to providing essential services while fostering a workplace where employees can contribute, grow and work safely.
