No physician coverage at Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital ED for 12 Hours

The Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital emergency department will be without an on-site physician for 12 hours Sunday, Nov. 1.

Due to a clinical personnel shortage and an inability to secure temporary coverage, there will be no on-site physician from 8:00 a.m. Sunday until 8:00 p.m.

Nursing staff will remain on-site to provide urgent triage and assessment and referrals for patients to alternate emergency departments, and 911 callers with medical emergency situations will be re-routed to neighbouring facilities.

Virtual emergency physician coverage may be available, where experienced ED physicians can be reached remotely to support the ED temporarily during this service advisory.
