Manslaughter charges laid in Valleyview stabbing investigation

Valleyview RCMP have one suspect in custody after responding to an alleged stabbing at a residence Friday morning (Nov. 6).

Mounties say they attended the scene alongside EMS at 5:37 a.m. and, despite life-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit then took over the investigation, and an arrest was made.

Eighteen-year-old Darcy Kappo of Sturgeon Lake First Nation was arrested on one count of manslaughter.
