Milestone birthday for JPBG founder

The man who owns Everything Grande Prairie, Big Country, and Q99 is marking a milestone birthday today.
 
Jimmy Pattison turns 90.
 
He was born in Saskatoon and lived in nearby Luseland, Saskatchewan before the family moved to B.C.
 
He is still the CEO and Board Chairman of the Jim Pattison Group.
 
According to Wikipedia, Pattison held jobs like selling doughnuts, building bridges in the mountains, and picking fruit while in school before getting into the auto business in 1961.
 
The Jim Pattison Broadcast Group started in 1965.
 
His other holdings include Canfor, Pattison Outdoor advertising and Save-On Foods.
 
Anyone who knows him says he is the first one to work in the morning and the last to leave at night.
 
Pattison is worth over $6-billion and is one of the richest people in Canada.
 
He is also known for his philanthropy, donating money to several hospitals in BC as well as a new Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon.
