Landslide along the Peace River results in Evacuation Alert for Old Fort area

A landslide in the Old Fort area near Taylor in the BC Peace has resulted in an Evacuation Alert being issued this morning.

Residents can evacuate their homes if they feel it is necessary. Those that do will be provided food and a place to stay but will need to contact the Peace River Regional District immediately at 250-784-3200 for safe transportation out of the area.

Residents who chose to remain in their homes will need to be self-sufficient as they will not be provided any aid.
