RCMP searching for suspects after teens attacked and their vehicle stolen

Update #1: With help from the public, police have located both vehicles involved in this incident. The suspects have not been located yet. The investigation continues.

 

(Sept. 29): RCMP are searching for two suspects after two teenaged boys were assaulted and their vehicle stolen south of Grande Prairie.

RCMP were called 1:00 a.m. Saturday and say two youth were at kilometre 17.5 of the Canfor Road when a white Ford drove up to them.

According to police, two aboriginal males got out of the truck and walked up to the teenagers with what appeared to be firearms.

The victims were threatened then physically assaulted before their vehicle was stolen.

The driver of a vehicle passing by stopped and picked up the teens and brought them to safety. They are in hospital suffering from serious injuries.

Mounties are searching for the aboriginal males described as having slim builds. 

The suspect vehicle is described as:

– Newer white Ford F150 
– Mirrors were tucked in 
– Halo strip around the headlights 
– Sunroof 
– Black/grey stripe that goes from the headlights back; stripe went up then down again 
– Short box, regular cab, 4 door 
– After market black 12 spoke rims; bigger tire 

The stolen vehicle is described as:

– 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt
– Blue in colour
– Alberta License Plate – BZZ 9365
