Ice season closes early at Dave Barr after mechanical issues with ice plant

The ice rink at the Dave Barr Community Centre has closed four days early due to mechanical issues with the facility’s ice plant.

The mechanical problems were announced on the facility’s Facebook page Wednesday. The ice was originally going to be closed for the year on Sunday.

The final free skate of the year has been canceled. Staff at Dave Barr are working on accommodating ice users to other Grande Prairie arenas.

Drop in programs have been moved to Revolution Place, and private bookings are being moved to the Coca-Cola Centre.
