Woman in critical condition after hit and run, suspect sought

Feb 22, 2018 | 11:16 AM

A woman is in critical condition and RCMP are looking for the driver of a black Ford truck after a hit and run involving a pedestrian.

RCMP say they received a call just before midnight last night (Wednesday), that a 38-year-old woman had been struck by a vehicle while walking southbound on 100 Street between 87 and 88 Avenues.

Witnesses told police they saw an older model black Ford truck swerve on the road.  They then noticed a female lying in the snowbank. The driver of the truck fled the scene. The female was transported to the QEII hospital and remains in critical condition.

RCMP are encouraging the driver of this vehicle to do the right thing and come forward to police.

They say the truck will have front-end damage, as there were pieces of the vehicle located at the scene.
