St. John Paul II Catholic School grand opening took place on Friday
The grand opening and ribbon cutting for the new St. John Paul II Catholic School in Grande Prairie took place on Friday afternoon.
Grande Prairie and District Catholic Schools Superintendent Karl Germann says he is excited about what the new school has to offer.
“It’s got so many opportunities for up to 1,000 kids in the northern part of the city. It will offer everything from construction to welding to cosmetology to theatre arts to commercial cooking. You name it, it will be available here. It’s available for both our English and French Immersion students.”
Minister of Education David Eggen was on hand to part take in the ribbon cutting. He says factors such as Alberta having the youngest and fastest growing population in the country were huge in the construction of the school.
