Second hottest May on record for Grande Prairie

The month of May saw a significant turnaround weather-wise in the City of Grande Prairie, and the numbers back it up.

Environment Canada has released their monthly numbers, and May 2018 was the 2nd hottest May on record for Grande Prairie.

The mean temperature was four degrees warmer than our average.

The month of May was also amongst one of the driest in the City’s history.

Just 6mm of precipitation was recorded which means May 2018 was the 3rd driest on record.

Numerous cities across the province recorded their hottest May on record, this includes Edmonton, Red Deer, Lloydminster, Fort McMurray, High Level, and Fort Vermilion.
