Man charged after thefts from oilfield sites in the M.D. of Greenview

A 64-year-old man is facing a string of charges following an investigation into theft from a number of oilfield sites in the M.D. of Greenview.

The Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Team executed a search warrant on a rural Grovedale property Tuesday and found the stolen industrial batteries.

Stanley Robert Savard has been charged with 25 counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.

He remains in custody and will be in court Monday to answer to the charges.

RCMP say “our dedicated crime reduction teams are hard at work to address repeat crime trends throughout the province. Through their sustained efforts and initiative, Albertans should see a reduced impact of crime in their communities in the long term.”
