No injuries in officer-involved shooting Saturday

A Grande Prairie man is facing charges after a weekend incident that involved an RCMP member firing a weapon.
 
Police say on Saturday just after 5 p.m, Mounties tried to stop a stolen vehicle near Crooked Creek.
 
An RCMP officer fired a weapon during a confrontation with the suspect.
 
The suspect was not injured and fled, later rolling the vehicle near Range Road 254A and Township Road 710. He did suffer injuries described as minor in the crash. He was later arrested near the Greenview Golf Course with the help of Police Dog Services. 
 
The charges against 42-year-old Gordon Randal Rawlyk include assaulting a police officer with a weapon, flight from police, and multiple counts of possession of property obtained by crime.
 
He will stay in custody until appearing in court January 23.
 
No RCMP members were injured.
