Man facing multiple charges after two incidents in Peace River

Sep 18, 2018 | 1:45 PM

A 20-year-old man is facing charges after two incidents in the Town of Peace River.

In the early evening hours of September 10, RCMP was called to the south end of the town to reports of a break-and-enter. A homeowner had found evidence of a break-in and upon investigation by police, it was found that someone had broken into a window and took electronics.

A few hours later on the same evening police were called to downtown Peace River to reports of suspicious activity. During an investigation by RCMP, a man was found in a nearby residential building and arrested on unrelated matters. Police say the man had electronics from the earlier break-and-enter in his possession.

Kyle Craddock of Peace River is facing multiple charges including possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of counterfeit currency and three counts of failure to comply with conditions of his recognizance.

He is set to appear in Peace River Provincial Court on September 24, 2018. Craddock remains in custody.

“Police would like to thank the public for their vigilance and assistance in reporting suspicious activity and encourage members of the community to continue reporting suspicious sightings to their local detachment,” says Cpl. Dave Browne.

Peace Regional RCMP encourages people with any information about this crime or any other crime to contact the detachment at 780-624-6677.  If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or on the internet at www.tipsubmit.com.
