May 31, 2018 | 4:38 PM

UPDATE (4:06 p.m., June 1): RCMP have released a photo of the vehicle.

Police are looking for a suspect that allegedly approached a young girl on her way home from school on Wednesday.

At 4 p.m. on May 30, the girl was biking from Roy Bickell Public School near the Royal Oaks neighbourhood. She was on 105 Street when a man in a black four-door car with rust and tinted windows pulled up beside her. RCMP say the man in the vehicle offered her a ride home and she yelled for help before biking away.

In a description provided by RCMP, the suspect is of Filipino or Asian descent. He was also clean shaven and wearing a dark blue shirt.

RCMP patrolled the area but was unable to find a vehicle or suspect matching the description.

Police continue the investigation. They are asking any possible witnesses to come forward and contact the local detachment.

If you would like to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The Principal at a neighbouring school posted a letter to parents and the community via Facebook last night. She encouraged parents to speak to their children about safe walking procedures. A letter was also emailed from Roy Bickell to parents the same evening.
