Fire truck damaged in hit and run

Nov 14, 2017 | 3:51 PM

Grande Prairie RCMP say a fire truck was struck by another vehicle while the fire department was helping at the scene of another collision.

Last Thursday, around 8:30 a.m., emergency crews were on the scene of a collision at 108 Street and 97 Avenue.

Firefighters were there to re-direct traffic and restrict access to one of the affected lanes when they saw a picker truck run into the bumper of their fire truck. This resulted in $2000 worth of damage.

Mounties are still looking for the picker truck.

If you have information on this, please call the RCMP at 780-830-5700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
