Grande Prairie’s Reece Harsch has a new home in the Western Hockey League.

It was announced early Wednesday afternoon Harsch was traded from the Seattle Thunderbirds to the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for 17-year-old blue liner Zach Ashton and a 2022 5th round bantam draft pick.

Harsch, 19, who is in his 3rd season in the Western Hockey League has 2 goals and 10 assists in 28 games this season.

The Grande Prairie product was also a member of the Thunderbirds when they won the WHL title in 2016-2017.

Harsch will join the Blades this week and could make his debut with his new club on Friday when they host the Regina Pats.

The WHL trade deadline is January 10th.
