Hundreds of potholes filled in the city

Since the start of the year, city crews have filled over 3700 potholes in Grande Prairie.
Officials say for the most part, “repeated pattern of freeze-thaw weather cycles has a considerable effect on the number of potholes on Grande Prairie roads.”
Transportation maintenance crews are now using hot-mix asphalt to fill the holes, a more permanent fix. In the cooler months, a cold-patch method was used for temporary repairs.
In all of 2017, crews filled around 6300 potholes within city limits.
