Alberta Chambers of Commerce AGM being held in Grande Prairie

May 22, 2018 | 7:35 AM

Chamber members from across the province will be in Grande Prairie this week.

They are gathering for the annual Alberta Chambers of Commerce AGM and Policy Session that starts Thursday says local Chamber Chair Cris Seppola-Podsada.

“The last time this was here was back in 2009 so we are well do to have everyone come back, we have over 100 delegates attending,” says Seppola-Podsada. “We are taking them up to a Seven Generations site, we are taking them to the Philip J Currie Dinosaur Museum.”

She says there are a lot of policies to go through including education, agriculture, small business and cannabis.

“The policies that pass, are passed onto the Alberta Government, so that’s essentially saying, okay, the Alberta Chambers of Commerce and all of our chambers in Alberta believe in these things and it’s a way for us to get our own mandates out to the government.”

The incoming Grande Prairie and District Chamber of Commerce Chief Operating Officer, Tanya Oliver, will be here as well ahead of her start date of June 18th.
