City man arrested after firearms and drugs found in stolen vehicle

A city man has been arrested and charged for driving a stolen vehicle and having firearms, ammunition, and meth.

According to RCMP, around 10 p.m. Sunday they noticed a suspicious vehicle in a hotel parking lot. It turned out the vehicle was stolen.  Police say 37-year-old Jeremy Rozon was behind the wheel.

Officers searched the stolen vehicle and found three stolen firearms, ammunition, and a small amount of methamphetamine.  A BB gun and paintball gun were also seized.

Rozon has been charged with the following Criminal Code Offences:

·         Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

·         Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 x 4

·         Unlawful possession of firearm in a vehicle x 3

·         Unlawful possession of ammunition in a vehicle

·         Possession of a controlled substance

Rozon remains in custody and will appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on February 8, 2018.
