Man shot in leg during golf tournament

A man received a gunshot wound Saturday during a golf tournament south of Grande Prairie. 

At around 2:30 p.m. on August 25, RCMP were called to a report of a man that suffered a gunshot wound to his leg. The man was taken to hospital by a witness where he was treated and released, according to a media release from RCMP.

Police arrived at the golf course and determined that there was also an organized shooting competition going on nearby. Although the investigation is ongoing, officers say they are “confident that there is no risk to public safety at this time”.
