Fire advisory lifted, moderate fire danger in GP forest area

The wildfire danger for the Grande Prairie Forest Area is now sitting at moderate. 

As of Friday afternoon, the fire advisory put on the area was also lifted. Frequent showers, cooler temperatures, light winds and higher humidity are attributed to the change, according to information released by Wildfire Information Officer Kelly Burke. 

The Grande Prairie office at 780-538-5560 can provide information on fire permits or burning heavy fuels.
