Storm aim to extend winning streak against Oilers

The Grande Prairie Storm are back at home tonight to battle the top team in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

The Storm, who are riding a three-game winning streak will host the Okotoks Oilers to kick off a pair of games this weekend.

Grande Prairie is coming off a 6-5 overtime victory on the road Tuesday in Drayton Valley to give them a little cushion between themselves and the Sherwood Park Crusaders for 4th in the AJHL North standings.

Tonight’s opponents are riding high as well as the Oilers have won 6 in a row, and have only lost 6 games in regulation all season.

Okotoks is also recognized as one of the top-ranked teams in the country based on the CJHL Top 20 weekly rankings.

Puck drop between the Oilers and Storm is at 7:30 p.m. from Revolution Place.

Grande Prairie will also host Olds on Saturday.
