Local judo athletes bring home medals from Edmonton International Judo Competition

The Edmonton International Judo Competition has wrapped up and athletes from the Grande Prairie region have taken home medals.

Our region was represented by the local judo club Hokei Sei Kan which consists of athletes from Grande Prairie and Wembley.

The youngest of the athletes took part in U10 &U12 matches which focused on practicing skills and learning.

 Local athletes who took part were:

  • Jackson Maclean U10
  • Jessica Grisales U10
  • Dominic McCarthy U12
  • Jhonathan Grisales U12

The club’s older athletes who competed for medals were:

  • Nikita Tysruk U14 Male – 60kg – Bronze
  • Mackenzie Querin U16 Female – 48kg – Bronze
  • Sydney Kinderwater U16 Female – 57 – kg – Silver
  • Mattea Sietz U16 Female – 70kg – Silver
  • Michelle Grisales U18 Female -57kg – Gold
  • Anthony Maclean Senior Men – 90kg – Silver
