Manslaughter guilty plea from former Grande Prairie resident

May 10, 2018 | 12:42 PM

The death of a Warburg, Alberta man in January of last year has led to a guilty plea from a one-time Grande Prairie resident.

Alberta Justice says Gerald Peter Krahn pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of manslaughter/use of a firearm in Wetaskiwin court Tuesday. He had been facing a murder count.

Krahn was arrested after the January 30, 2017 death of Christopher O’Reilly. RCMP at the time did not release details, only that O’Reilly suffered injuries during what police called “an incident.”

Krahn did not have a permanent address at the time of his arrest but had been staying in the Beaumont area.

He will be sentenced July 4 in Wetaskiwin.
