Local curlers heading to the Scotties

Jan 23, 2018 | 6:09 AM

Local curlers Carrie-Ann McTaggart and Kristie Moore received a send off to the Scotties last night from the Grande Prairie Curling Centre.

McTaggart says this is her first trip to the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

“It is a big event, but I feel we have a lot of experience at the Slams (Grand Slam of Curling) and at the Olympic trials and we have Kristie (Moore) who has been there before, so I think the experience factor isn’t going to be an issue for us as to what to expect so really looking forward to just getting there and playing.”

This will be Moore’s third Scotties.

“It will be a little bit different though this year because of the two pools versus the one so that will be a little bit different, something new. Different because I am playing in a different position so that’s fun.”

McTaggart is the Third and Moore is the Lead for team Scheidegger representing Alberta.  The Scotties are in Pentiction B.C. from January 27th to February 4th.
