Jan 17, 2018 | 12:27 PM

Four stolen vehicles were recovered and five people were charged over the span of six hours last week.

On January 11, the Grande Prairie Crime Reduction Unit and Beaverlodge RCMP located a man allegedly involved in stealing a vehicle from the city of Grande Prairie earlier that day, according to a media release from Grande Prairie RCMP.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., 38-year-old James Noble was arrested and charged. Noble is facing charges of Possession of the Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000, Flight from Police, Driving while Disqualified, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Cocaine, and Driving Uninsured on a Highway.

The man is set to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on January 22, 2018.

Later that same day, the CRU tracked a stolen pick-up truck to a rural location in the Bezanson area. Two men were taken into custody without incident with the help of Police Dog Services.

Twenty-three-year-old Owen Stockton of DeBolt and 38-year-old Brandon Moench of Sundre, Alberta are facing charges.

Moench is facing charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000, Flight from Police, and Driving while Unauthorized. Stockton is facing charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000. They both appear in court on January 29, 2018.

On January 12 around 12:30 a.m., The CRU assisted general duty RCMP members in locating a stolen vehicle in a hotel parking lot on the west side of the city.

Twenty-year-old Jessica Smith of Grande Prairie was arrested. She faces charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 and Failure to Comply with Probation Orders.

She is set to appear in court on January 29, 2018.

Approximately an hour later on that same day, RCMP officers located a stolen vehicle in the Patterson area. When police tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver of the vehicle began maneuvering the vehicle in what RCMP describe as a “dangerous and erratic manner”. Officers did not pursue the vehicle because of safety concerns.

The CRU located the same vehicle and tracked it to Clairmont. Forty-three-year-old Robert McGeorge was arrested and charged. He is facing charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous To the Public, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Flight from Police, Driving while Disqualified, and six counts of Failing to Comply with Recognizance.

McGeorge was remanded into custody with a court appearance set on January 17, 2018.
