RCMP seize 320 marijuana plants at suspected grow op
Peace Regional RCMP located and seized 320 marijuana plants from an area near the hamlet of Marie Reine today.
A search warrant was executed on a home near the hamlet, 18 kilometres south of Peace River, on suspicion that there was a grow operation.
Police, along with General Investigation Section members and RCMP Police Dog Services turned up the plants, drug production equipment, drug paraphernalia that would be used for production and cultivation, and a large amount of packaged cannabis. Officers also recovered a stolen side-by-side ATV.
A 34-year-old man British Columbia, who RCMP have not named in a media release, has been arrested and charged. He is facing Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Marijuana, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Production of a Controlled Substance charges.
