Mar 25, 2019 | 7:41 AM

It was a heart-breaking end to the season for two former members of the Grande Prairie Storm.

Former Storm forward Cruz Cote and former Head Coach Mike Vandekamp were looking to try and force a Game 7 against the defending BCHL champion Wenatchee Wild Sunday night in Duncan.

Despite tying the game late in the 3rd period, Cote’s Capitals fell in overtime less than five minutes in to the extra frame.

Cowichan fell in 6 games to Wenatchee who will now move on to face the winner of the Vernon Vipers and Trail Smoke eaters.

Cruz’s brother Walker, another former member of the Grande Prairie Storm, will be playing in Game 7 Tuesday night in the SJHL quarter-finals as his Nipawin Hawks meet the Yorkton Terriers.
