McLeod’s Oil Kings earn spot in 2nd round

Dawson Creek’s Wyatt McLeod and the Edmonton Oil Kings needed overtime Sunday night to advance to the 2nd round of the WHL playoffs.

They came back from a 3-1 deficit in Game 6 to win 4-3 in overtime and won the series in 6 games.

Wyatt McLeod of Dawson Creek played a big factor in the win for the Oil Kings.

McLeod scored the 2nd goal of the evening for Edmonton which got them back to within one.

In 6 playoff games with the Oil Kings in the 1st round saw McLeod register a goal and two assists.

The Oil Kings will now advance to the 2nd round where they will meet the winner of the Lethrbridge Hurricanes and Calgary Hitmen who will play Game 7 on Tuesday.
