Failed robbery attempt at Great Northern Casino Wednesday morning

The main entrance at the Great Northern Casino is more open the usual, as a truck smashed through the front doors at around 6 a.m. and attempted to pull the ATM near the front of the building out with their vehicle.

The suspects failed in their attempt to come away with the cash machine, as it is bolted to the wall. The suspects then gave up and drove away. Nothing was stolen, but the front doors are being replaced due to the damage.

Grande Prairie RCMP say they have no further details at this time. No description of the suspects or vehicle were provided. anyone has any information about this incident, they are encouraged to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

The casino is still open, but at this time are asking people to use the west entrance and avoid the work being done at the front.
