Mixed results for Peace region teams at Junior B provincials

Round robin action concludes today at the Junior B Provincials in Wetaskiwin.

The County JDA Kings are now 1-1 after a 5-2 loss last night to Airdrie.

Blake Gillingham and Wyatt Lawrence scored for the Kings in a penalty filled affair that saw the two teams combine for 150 minutes in penalties.

The Kings will play Edmonton Beverly at 9:15 this morning.

A win would move the Kings into tonight’s semi finals.

Meanwhile, the NWJHL champion Fort St John Huskies improved to 1-1 after a 4-2 win over Coaldale.

Alex Nimmo, Dean Whitcomb, Jared Loewen and Joel Bourgeois scored for the Huskies, who will face Wetaskiwin at noon today.

The Huskies also need to win their final game to have a shot at the playoff round.
