Apr 7, 2019 | 9:20 AM

Both Peace Region teams were eliminated on Saturday at the Junior B Hockey provincials.

The County JDA Kings were knocked out after an 8-5 loss to the Edmonton Beverly Warriors left them with a 1-and-2 record.

Wyatt Lawrence did everything he could to keep the Kings’ season going by scoring four goals and adding an assist on Blake Gillingham’s second period marker.

Lawrence ended with a tournament high nine goals at provincials.

Meanwhile, NWJHL champion Fort St John missed out on a chance to move into the semi finals with an 8-3 loss to host Wetaskiwin.

Fort St John, Coaldale and Wetaskiwin all finished the round robin tied for second in their pool with identical 1-and-2 records, but the host Icemen took the final semi final spot thanks to a better goal differential than the other two teams.

Alex Nimmo, Logan Kimmie and Aiden Craig-Steele scored for the Huskies in the loss.
