The 20th Cash and Camping lottery put on by Rotary has officially begun.
Chair of the Lottery Committee for Swan City Rotary Club Dave Cook explains the lottery not only benefits those who take home prizes, but also local organizations and businesses.
“This is truly a lottery that benefits this community,” says Cook. “We have nine community partners who are all local and they will benefit from it. Last year, we made donations to over 50 different organizations – non profits and charities – in the Grande Prairie area.”
Cook adds along with the new 10 days of summer lottery, other changes have been made as well such as the creation of a loyalty draw that rewards those who get tickets early. He notes the cut-off for the loyalty draw is May 1 and includes a cash prize of $10,000.
Other changes Cook mentions are the trips included for the early bird cut-offs. The Mother’s Day Early Bird prize includes a four-person Hawaiian Cruise, and the Father’s Day Early Bird prize includes a four-person fishing trip to Mexico.
The lottery kicked off last night outside the casino and this year a new third lottery has been announced called 10 days of summer. Cook notes the new lottery will feature plenty of prizes.
“We’ve added a third lottery and we call it the 10 Days of Summer. We have over $68,000 worth of prizes to be given out over ten days in July. The prizes range from meat packages, gasoline vouchers, gift certificates from Echo AVU and Canadian Tire, plus, $10,000 worth of cash.”
