Grande Prairie Live Theatre loses founding member

Jennie Tetreau, a founding member of Grande Prairie Live Theatre, passed away at the age of 88 on April 21. That is according to a Facebook post from Grande Prairie Live Theatre.

Tetreau had been involved for over 60 years in local productions and helped found Grande Prairie Live Theatre in 1963.

During her time with the theatre, she participated in over 120 productions through both acting and directing.

In the past, she has also worked behind the scenes through her time spent sitting on the Grande Prairie Live Theatre Board.

She continued to participate as an active volunteer with the theatre up until the time of her passing.

In honour of Tetreau’s significant contributions over the years, Grande Prairie Live Theatre named their top volunteer award after her.

Tetreau was a leading figure for the theatre in her efforts to continually keep Grande Prairie Live Theatre moving forward.

That post also says, the group quote, has ”lost a true friend and mentor.”

Tetreau leaves behind many family members, including her two children Glen and Denise.

A celebration of Tetreau’s life will be held on April 29 at St. Paul’s United Church.

The public is invited to attend the celebration which begins at 1 p.m. and a fellowship is scheduled to follow at the Golden Age Centre.
