Grande Prairie Enforcement putting focus on cargo securement
Making sure cargo is secured is the focus of the April Bylaw Enforcement Education Program for Grande Prairie Enforcement Services.
Sgt. Ross Gear says they try to make this a priority every year around the springtime.
“Pretty soon people will be cleaning up. It has been a long, tough winter and snow will recede, people will be cleaning up their yards and carrying stuff to the dump or to storage. We just want to make sure people properly secure their cargo.”
Gear encourages people to strap things down or use a net.
“A net works well in some circumstances. I use a net when I am taking household garbage to the dump, it works very well,” said Gear.
“If it is something heavy, you will need whatever is appropriate for whatever you are hauling.”
