One of the highlights each year for the organization is the Northwest Alberta Sports Excellence Awards which takes place in March.

Grande Prairie Sport Connection celebrates the past year at AGM

The Grande Prairie Sports Connection held their annual general meeting Monday night.

Karn Germsheid with the Connection shares it was great to see a large amount of people in attendance for the meeting.

“The AGM went really well. I was happy to see some of our members at large there. We had a few open spots for re-election of some of our existing board members. We also had an open position which two people were vying for. Overall it was very successful.”

One of the things discussed at the AGM has been the growth of the organization over the past four years was the growth of the organization.

“We are loving the growth of the Connection. I can speak personally there. For the last four years it has been a one person shop in office and to have a teammate help support us has definitely help us engage with the sports organizations and the people locally,” stated Germsheid.

The Sport Connection will be adding a 3rd person to the organization to help with the ongoing growth.

They will begin at the end of the month.
